Three killed after boda boda, truck ferrying miraa collide in Kitui

Three people died on Saturday night after a motorbike they were riding collided head on with a truck ferrying miraa at Kabati market, few kilometers from Kitui town.

A junior secondary school teacher was among the victims of the Saturday’s grisly accident which occurred on Kitui-Kanyonyo road.

Mr. Benjamin Mutua Seve, 27, and his two cousins were knocked down by a speeding miraa truck near the famous Pot County hotel at Kabati.

The teacher, attached to Katheka Primary Junior Secondary, was awaiting confirmation by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

Seve hails from Mutonguni location, Kwangutu area along Tulia-Boloni road.

Colleagues described him as a hardworking young man who was seen as a pillar of future academic excellence at the school.

Shocked colleagues narrated the last moments of his life where he was said to have been in high spirits only two minutes before they were mauled down by the miraa truck.

Their bodies have been moved to Tribute Funeral Home awaiting postmortem examination.
