Three Killed in Grisly Namanga Road Crash

Three people died and three others were injured in a fatal road accident Wednesday night along Namanga Road near Ilbisil Town in Kajiado County.

According to the police report, a salon car approached the police roadblock at high speed, passing five vehicles awaiting inspection before ramming into a lorry and veering off the road, killing two of its occupants on the spot.

The third person died from injuries while being rushed to a nearby hospital. A fourth passenger was seriously injured and is currently being treated at Kajiado level five hospital.

The lorry’s driver and conductor were treated in a nearby hospital for minor injuries.

By the time of the accident, both vehicles were on their way to Ilbisil Town from Kajiado Town.

When confirming the incident, Oloilai Police Commander Joseph Mutiria stated that the accident was caused by overspeed, urging motorists to follow traffic rules to avoid such incidents.

“It’s unfortunate we lost three young people. I urge motorists to be careful to avoid such accidents,” said Mr Mutiria.

The bodies were taken to the Kajiado Level Five Hospital mortuary.

The salon car’s mangled wreckage was towed to Ilbisil Police Station.
