BY PRUDENCE WANZA – Three more suspects have been charged in the 72m bank theft.
Bernard Mwenda Mulee, Benson Makoha and Nahashon Mutua Mulee are accused of robbery with violence.
They are alleged to have been armed with firearms and robbing G4S staff sh.74m,38 cassettes, 13 purge bins and 13 canvas bags all totalling to Sh.75.9m.
The three also face a charge of malicious damage to property where they are accused of destroying 36 cassettes, 11 purge bins all valued at Ksh. 1,267,000 in Thogoto forest, Kiambu county.
They are also accused of conspiracy to commit a felony whereby they conspired with others who were not before the court to rob G4S staff of Ksh.74,483,000,13 purge bins and 13 canvas bags totalling to Sh. 75m.
They are alleged to have committed the offences on 5th September 2019 at an unknown place in Kenya.
The accused persons were released on a cash bail of Sh.1m with 2 sureties. Six suspects were also charged in relation to the theft last week and released on similar cash bail.
The case will be mentioned on 24th September.
