Three-night security guards were discovered murdered in Migori town on Saturday morning under mysterious circumstances.
The three were discovered with serious injuries to the neck and head, indicating that they were struck by a blunt object, with one of the bodies discovered dumped in River Migori.
Residents have expressed their outrage and pointed fingers at the police, accusing them of not paying enough attention to night patrols.
They say the killings are disturbing, with many of them expressing fear saying the security situation in the town is continuously deteriorating, further urging Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki to intervene.
Locals claim they have no idea how the murders occurred, despite the fact that two of the watchmen were allegedly killed near a bank guarded by police officers.
This is the second such incident in Migori, following the death of another watchman in February of this year during a robbery with violence in which 18 motorcycles and 30 mobile phones were stolen from a shop.
