Three People Have Been Detained For Allegedly Orchestrating The Violence And Looting On June 25Th.

Nairobi, Kenya — Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested three suspects believed to have played a key role in inciting violence, theft, and destruction of property during the chaotic June 25th protests.

In an intelligence-driven operation conducted on Friday, June 27, officers intercepted and apprehended the suspects along the Konza City section as they attempted to flee to the coast aboard a Mombasa-bound bus.

The three suspects, identified as John Mulingwa Nzau, alias GarangMark Amiani, alias Generali, and Francis Mutunge Mwangi, alias Chebukati, are alleged to have coordinated the violence through organized channels and social media platforms, encouraging criminal acts that disrupted public order and undermined constitutionally protected rights to peaceful assembly.

The arrests followed extensive forensic investigations and testimonies from concerned citizens directly affected by the violence.

Authorities believe the suspects were attempting to hide along the coastal region to evade arrest, unaware that law enforcement was closing in.

The DCI has strongly condemned the actions of the group, describing their conduct as a deliberate attempt to incite violence, cause economic harm, and subvert public order during what was intended to be a peaceful demonstration.

The protests, which took place in several parts of the country, were marred by widespread looting, arson, and attacks on individuals and businesses.

The suspects are set to be arraigned in court on Monday, where they may face multiple charges including malicious damage to property, arson, theft, and incitement to violence and disobedience of the law.

The DCI has confirmed that more individuals linked to the violence have been identified and are being pursued.
