Police in Kayole have arrested three suspected robbers believed to have been behind a string of violent incidents across Nairobi.
According to Njiru Sub-County Commander John Owuoth, officers on patrol intercepted three men riding a motorcycle. When ordered to stop, the suspects attempted to flee, tossing away a firearm loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition.
The chase ended with the suspects’ arrest, triggering a wider search operation that uncovered more evidence linking them to recent robberies.
Investigators recovered a Falcon pistol, 19 rounds of ammunition, three number plates, several stolen mobile phones, a television set, three motorbikes, a bicycle and assorted new clothing.
Police have asked residents who may have lost their phones to visit Kayole Police Station for identification and verification.
Authorities are also urging members of the public to continue sharing information with security agencies to help curb insecurity in the area.
The suspects remain in police custody and are expected to be arraigned in court.
