Three people were today arraigned in a Nairobi Court facing charges of obtaining millions of money pretending they were in a position of procuring medical supply tender with Kilifi County Government.
The three suspects, Richard Opiyo, Michael Khayanje and Ali Bahati Kitsao were arraigned before Milimani Law Courts for obtaining Ksh 6,992,785 from Joseph Bob Oyuma pretending they were in a position to assist him in the supply of medical drugs to Kilifi County Government a fact they knew to be false.
They were also charged with forging a form of contract agreement between Kilifi County Hospital, County Government of Kilifi and Solekid enterprises dated September 18, 2023 for the supply of medical drugs valued at Ksh 5.3 Million.
Appearing before Magistrate Onsaringo, the suspects denied the charges.
However, the prosecution objected to the release of the accused persons on bond saying they are a flight risk.
They were detained in police cells until September 20, for fail and bond release ruling.
