Three suspects were today arraigned before a Nairobi Court for allegedly having being found in possession of forged USD currency.
The three; Raphael Kakule Ojiambo, Samuel Ayako Kerandi and Wilfred Gitonga Kaburu were arrested on January 17, 2025 allegedly in possession of 11,783 papers intending the same to resemble and pass as US dollar currency.
Raphael Kakule Ojiambo and Samuel Ayako Kerandi were separately charged with conspiring to defraud an unsuspecting citizen a total sum of Ksh 4,358,000 by falsely pretending they were in a position to offer him commission after the sale of a mineral called plutonium.
Appearing before Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi, the suspects denied the charges and were released on Ksh 1m bond with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 500,000.
The case will proceed on February 10, 2025 for pretrial.
