Thug Shot Dead In Botched Nairobi Bank Robbery

On the afternoon of Tuesday, October 11, gunshots rented the air at a local bank in Nairobi West after a suspected robber attempted to break into the facility.

During the incident, the attacker who stabbed a guard and two customers at the bank was shot dead by police.

According to police, the robber was reportedly armed with a knife and was shot dead as he attempted to steal cash being delivered by G4S personnel at the bank on Ghandi Avenue.

The bank confirmed the incident and announced that the branch had been closed while police investigated the attempted break in.

“Kindly note that we had a distress incident today morning at our Nairobi West Branch where an armed person attempted to gain access into the banking hall.

“Security agents led by local authorities are currently on site investigating the incident and the branch has been temporarily closed,” read the statement in part.

Meanwhile, police officers have cordoned off the facility and closed the road leading to the popular bank.
