Suspected thugs have shot and killed a motorist on the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway.
Thugs are said to have opened fire on his automobile within a kilometer from Changamwe Police Station.
According to a police report from the station, the media house, the deceased was driving a Toyota Premio.
According to the report, the man died on the spot while travelling from Kibarani to Changamwe.
The deceased was sent to the Coast General Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
The incident comes after an unprecedented spike in crime and assassinations, that have involved businessman as well as journalists.
