Tiati MP Kamket Dumps Raila Odinga

William Kamket, a Tiati Member of Parliament (MP), has joined President-elect William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza camp.

Ruto welcomed the outspoken legislator to the alliance on Thursday, September 1, at the Deputy President’s official residence in Karen, Nairobi.

“Working together is imperative for the full realization of the economic objectives we promised the people of Kenya. I am pleased to welcome Tiaty MP William Kamket to Kenya Kwanza,” Ruto said.

His move comes just days after he congratulated Ruto on his victory on August 9 in the presidential election.

“I actually cast my bet on presidential candidate Raila Odinga, Senator Gideon Moi, and the woman representative Gladwell Cheruiyot but lost all.

“I accept the thorough beating and I beg, please accommodate me back,” he said.

The MP, who was elected on a KANU party ticket, stated that once sworn in, he will work with Ruto.

He also stated that he had confirmed that the presidential election votes cast and counted in his polling station were what reached Bomas of Kenya, as claimed by Azimio la Umoja leaders in their petition currently before the Supreme Court.

“I can personally attest the votes were tallied at Chemolingot, my home turf, were the same reflected at the national IEBC tallying centre at Bomas of Kenya. There was no rigging whatsoever,” he said.
