“Toa Hio Case Kortini or I will Kill You” Man Charged Over Alleged Death Threats

The Makadara Law Courts have ordered the continued detention of Ahmed Ali Mohammed pending a ruling on his bail and bond application scheduled for June 15, 2026.

Ahmed appeared before Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe, where he was charged with intimidation contrary to Section 238 of the Penal Code.

According to the charge sheet, the accused allegedly threatened the complainant on July 11, 2025, at an AS Petrol Station in the Pumwani area of Kamukunji Sub-County, Nairobi.

The prosecution alleges that Ahmed, without lawful justification, uttered words to the effect of: “Take that case to court and I will kill you,” statements said to have been intended to instill fear and create apprehension of harm in the complainant.

During the proceedings, the prosecution opposed his release on bail, arguing that the charge was serious and that the complainant’s safety could be compromised if the accused were released before the matter is heard and determined.

An affidavit filed by the investigating officer stated that the alleged threat was linked to a pending court matter and raised concerns that the accused could interfere with witnesses or intimidate the complainant if granted bond.

After considering the prosecution’s application, the court directed that Ahmed remain in custody and reserved its decision on bail and bond terms until June 15, 2026.

The case will be mentioned on that date for the court’s ruling on whether the accused will be released pending trial.
