Tony Gachoka Joins KANU–UDA Negotiation Team

Nairobi Gubernatorial aspirant and KANU member Tony Gachoka has announced his decision to join the team representing KANU in negotiations for a political alliance with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) led by President William Ruto.

In a letter addressed to KANU Secretary General George Wainaina, Gachoka confirmed that he will serve on the party’s committee to engage UDA in formal discussions following a meeting between KANU Chairman Gideon Moi and President Ruto at Kabarak last week.

Gachoka described the talks as a “revolution in political thinking and realignment in Kenya,” adding that despite being a fierce critic of the Kenya Kwanza administration, he now supports dialogue that could unify the country.

“It is a matter of public record that I have been in the forefront of fighting William Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza Government,” he said.

“But we in the political class cannot stand aside and risk being cast into historical oblivion.”

Quoting Shakespeare, Gachoka remarked, “Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once,” emphasizing that KANU must seize the moment to redefine its role in Kenya’s political future.

He pledged full support for Gideon Moi’s leadership in the negotiations and expressed readiness to back any outcomes from the alliance talks.

Gachoka also reaffirmed his ambition to contest the Nairobi governorship on a KANU ticket and endorsed Peter Kariuki Ng’ang’a for the upcoming Kariobangi North by-election.

“This is a historic moment for KANU and for Kenya,” he wrote. “We must rise to the occasion, for the nation and for God.”
