Top Police Bosses Visits Corporal Kennedy Nzuve Family

The National Police Service has paid tribute to Corporal Kennedy Nzuve, describing him as a dedicated and courageous officer whose service will be remembered with honour.

On Sunday afternoon, Dr Masoud Mwinyi, the Principal Deputy to the Deputy Inspector-General of the Administration Police Service, visited the officer’s family home in Mwihoko, Kiambu County.

Dr Mwinyi, who represented the Inspector-General of Police, Douglas Kanja, conveyed a message of condolence to the bereaved family, quoting Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

The National Police Service on Friday evening received the body of Corporal Kennedy Mutuku Nzuve, who died while on duty in Haiti earlier this month.

His remains arrived at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), where they were formally received by senior officers led by Isaac Alimaa, Commandant of the National Police College Embakasi ‘A’ Campus.

Corporal Nzuve lost his life on September 1, 2025, in a road traffic accident while serving under the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSSM) in Haiti.

Corporal Nzuve, who served with the Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU), was praised for his commitment both within Kenya and in assignments beyond the country’s borders.

Dr Mwinyi lauded his contribution to national security, noting that his bravery and sacrifice will remain etched in the memory of the service and the nation.

“The late Corporal Nzuve served with distinction and his name will be remembered with the deepest gratitude,” he said, adding that the NPS would stand with the family during their time of grief.

He was accompanied by several senior officers, including the Chief of Staff, Haron Nthiga; Director of Planning and External Linkages, Lawrence Owino; Deputy Director of Security Operations, Ibrahim Alike; and the RDU Commandant, Aggrey Shamala.

Others present included Michael Owino, Director of Communications and Signals; Tabitha Ndanu, Director of Gender and Welfare; and Hezborn Anzentse, Staffing Officer for RDU Operations.

The requiem mass for Corporal Nzuve is scheduled to take place on Tuesday at St Daniel Comboni Catholic Church, NPC Embakasi ‘A’ Campus.

The National Police Service said it will continue to support the officer’s family in the coming days as they lay to rest one of their own.
