Traffic Disruption Alert: Kavenge Bridge on Thika-Garissa Road to Undergo Repairs

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has issued a public notice announcing a temporary traffic disruption along the Thika-Garissa (A3) Road at Kavenge (Mbakini) Bridge near Mbakini Centre. The affected section will be closed to facilitate essential maintenance and rehabilitation works on the bridge girders and deck.

The disruption is scheduled to begin on Saturday, July 26, 2025, and will continue until Saturday, November 8, 2025.

In its statement dated July 19, KeNHA assured motorists that the works are aimed at enhancing road safety and improving transport efficiency on the busy corridor. Road users are advised to follow the designated diversion routes and adhere to directions from police officers and traffic marshals deployed on-site.

KeNHA emphasized the importance of public cooperation during the rehabilitation period and has provided a traffic management plan to ease congestion and minimize inconvenience.
