Traffic Disruptions on Mombasa Road as KeNHA Issues Advisory

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has issued a traffic advisory for motorists using Mombasa Road, urging caution following two separate incidents that have disrupted the flow of traffic on the busy highway.

According to the advisory, an overloaded truck was intercepted at Athi River on the Nairobi-bound carriageway, blocking one side of the road. Officers from the Axle Load Enforcement Highway Unit are currently on-site addressing the situation.

In a separate incident, a traffic accident occurred at Maanzoni, also on the Nairobi-bound side of Mombasa Road, leading to a full blockage of that section.

KeNHA is advising motorists to exercise patience, follow the guidance of traffic marshals deployed at both scenes, and drive cautiously as efforts are underway to restore normal flow.

The agency has not yet indicated the estimated time of clearance but assured road users that traffic police and relevant authorities are working swiftly to resolve the disruptions.

Motorists are encouraged to consider alternative routes where possible.
