Trafficker Nabbed, Heroin Seized In Kikambala Sting

MOMBASA, Kenya — Anti-Narcotics detectives in Mombasa have scored a major victory in the fight against drug trafficking with the arrest of a suspected high-profile peddler and the seizure of heroin valued at approximately Sh1.8 million.

In a meticulously coordinated operation on May 17th , law enforcement officers descended on a residence in Kikambala, where Ali Bakari Ali, a 40-year-old man described by authorities as a “notorious dealer,” was caught completely off guard.

According to sources within the Anti-Narcotics Unit, the bust followed credible intelligence indicating that the suspect was actively trafficking narcotics in the coastal region.

“The suspect was found in possession of a blue carrier bag concealed under a mattress, containing six tightly wrapped packages of heroin weighing 600 grams,” a police report stated.

The arrest marks a significant breakthrough in ongoing efforts to dismantle Mombasa’s drug networks, which have long plagued the region and contributed to rising addiction and crime rates.

Ali was immediately taken into custody and, together with the recovered narcotics, transferred to Port Police Station, where he is currently being held pending arraignment in court.

Authorities have praised the public for their role in sharing information that led to the arrest and continue to urge citizens to report suspicious activity through anonymous channels.
