A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Chebisian village, Merigi Location, Bomet County, when a 30-year-old woman reportedly slaughtered her two young children before taking her own life.

‘The shocking event, which took place on Saturday, left the community in deep mourning and disbelief.

According to police reports, the woman killed her children, aged 12 and 3, using a panga before hanging herself from a truss inside their home.

Authorities found the bodies after being alerted and forcing entry into the locked house, where they discovered the children in a pool of blood. The mother’s body was found hanging, indicating that she may have died by suicide after committing the horrific act.

Law enforcement officials have revealed that the suspect had been experiencing mental health issues, which they believe contributed to the tragic events.

A thorough investigation is currently underway, with police examining whether the murder-suicide theory could have been staged.

“We have to investigate to know what happened. It could be they were killed and the whole thing staged,” noted an officer familiar with the case.
