Trailer Set Ablaze On Southern Bypass As Azimio Protests Kick Off

A group of goons attacked and set fire a Uganda-bound trailer on the Lang’ata bypass near the Migingo slum in Lang’ata, Nairobi.

According to the driver of the truck Jibril Abduba, the goons were looking for food but he was only ferrying power cables and they tried opening the container but were unsuccessful.

“The protesters were looking for food but I had none, and that is why they decided to burn the trailer,” Abduba explained.

This comes barely two hours after goons burnt a bus along Ngong Road, in the wake of fresh protests called by Azimio leader Raila Odinga.

In the Ngong Road incident, police used teargas to disperse a crowd that had gathered on the road in an attempt to restore calm.

Some youths at the scene said those behind the attack are not from the area.

They claimed that the attackers arrived in groups and appeared well-organized.

They then threw petrol bombs at an oncoming bus as the driver tried in vain to turn and escape.
