Noah Ogweno, a miner, was rescued alive after being buried alive for over 72 hours in the Kopuodho gold mines.
On the fourth day after the Thursday midday disaster that locked him inside the gold mine after its walls collapsed, Ogweno was rescued.
Colleagues and local officials worked together to save the day, led by area Rongo MP Paul Abuor, who contributed an excavator.
On Sunday evening, Abuor announced that the miner had been rescued alive from the collapsing goldmine.
Ogweno was rescued and transported to Kisii County’s Tabaka Mission Hospital.
