Trump Grants Flurry of Pardons Including First-Term Commutation Recipient

Adriana Camberos was among 13 pardons and eight commutations announced Thursday, with an additional pardon disclosed Friday.

WASHINGTON

In a final wave of clemency, President Donald Trump issued pardons for a donor’s father, a former Puerto Rico governor, and a woman whose previous commutation he granted in 2021—only for her to be imprisoned again on new fraud charges.

Adriana Camberos was among 13 pardons and eight commutations announced Thursday, with an additional pardon disclosed Friday.

Trump had commuted Camberos’ sentence in early 2021 after her conviction in a scheme involving counterfeit 5-Hour Energy drinks intended for Mexican resale.

But in 2024, she and her brother Andres were convicted in a separate fraud case, accused of lying to manufacturers to obtain deeply discounted wholesale groceries and other goods by falsely claiming they were destined for Mexican markets, prisons, or rehab centers.

Instead, prosecutors said, they resold the products at higher prices to U.S. distributors.

The latest pardon for Camberos underscores the unusual and personal nature of Trump’s final clemency actions, which also included Terren Peizer, a former healthcare CEO, among others.
