Trump Issues ‘Last Warning’ to Hamas Over Hostage Crisis

By Michelle Ndaga

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued what he described as a “last warning” to Hamas, urging the militant group to release hostages held in Gaza as part of a proposed ceasefire arrangement.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said Israel had accepted his terms for a truce and prisoner exchange, emphasizing that Hamas must comply without delay. “There will not be another one,” he warned.

Trump’s plan communicated through mediators calls for Hamas to release all remaining hostages, estimated at 48, on the first day of a ceasefire. In return, Israel would free thousands of Palestinian prisoners.

Hamas has acknowledged receiving the U.S. proposal and signaled openness to negotiations.

However, the group stressed that any deal must include an explicit end to the conflict, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and clarity on future governance.

Speaking to reporters, Trump expressed confidence in the progress of talks, saying, “I think we’re going to get them all,” while hinting that a breakthrough deal could be finalized soon.

The ultimatum underscores heightened U.S. involvement in efforts to end the months-long Gaza war, with the fate of the remaining hostages now tied to broader ceasefire negotiations.
