U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that the United States is not merely pushing for a ceasefire in the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict, but for a definitive resolution to the hostilities.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump dismissed the idea of a temporary halt in fighting. “We’re not looking for a ceasefire,” he said. “We’re looking at better than a ceasefire.”
Pressed on what exactly that entails, the President clarified: “A real end. Not a ceasefire. An end.”
Trump’s comments come as Iran and Israel continue to exchange heavy strikes into the fourth week of escalating conflict, raising concerns over broader regional instability.
While international actors, including the United Nations and European Union, have urged for an immediate truce, Trump’s remarks signal a firmer stance — suggesting the U.S. favors a conclusive outcome that could potentially dismantle Iran’s military capabilities.
The President did not elaborate on whether this “end” would involve further U.S. engagement or diplomatic mediation, but his language points to a hardline approach as the White House continues to back Israel while warning Iran of dire consequences if hostilities continue.
No official U.S.-brokered peace plan has been announced so far.
