Trump Strips Security Clearances from Harris, Clinton, and Other Former Officials

U.S. President Donald Trump has revoked security clearances from several high-profile figures, including his former Democratic election rivals Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton, along with a number of other prominent former officials.

This decision follows Trump’s earlier announcement in February that he would revoke the security clearance of his predecessor, Joe Biden — a move he confirmed in this latest statement.

He also declared that security clearances for “any other member” of the Biden family would be rescinded.

“I have determined that it is no longer in the national interest for these individuals to retain access to classified information,” Trump stated in the memorandum.

Typically, former presidents and senior national security officials maintain their clearances as a professional courtesy.

In addition to Harris and Clinton, the list includes former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, former Republican lawmakers Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, and Fiona Hill, who served as a Russian affairs adviser during Trump’s first term.

Other individuals losing their clearances are Jake Sullivan, Lisa Monaco, Mark Zaid, Norman Eisen, Letitia James, Alvin Bragg, Andrew Weissmann, and Alexander Vindman.

This action follows Trump’s earlier revocation of security clearances for more than four dozen former intelligence officials, whom he accused — without presenting evidence — of interfering in the 2020 election to benefit Biden.
