United States President Donald Trump has issued a dramatic message to the people of Iran, urging them to rise up and seize control of their government amid escalating military tensions in the region.
In a statement posted on his Truth Social platform, Trump addressed Iranians directly, framing the unfolding situation as a rare opportunity for political change.
“To the great proud people of Iran, I say tonight that the hour of your freedom is at hand,” he wrote, as reports of intensified military activity and security alerts emerged across parts of the Middle East.
At the same time, Trump warned civilians to remain indoors due to the danger posed by ongoing strikes.
“Stay sheltered. Don’t leave your home. It’s very dangerous outside,” he cautioned. “Bombs will be dropping everywhere.”
His remarks come at a time of heightened hostilities involving Iran, the United States and its allies, with missile interceptions, air strikes, and emergency alerts reported in several countries across the Gulf region.
Trump’s message went further, openly encouraging Iranians to overthrow their leadership, suggesting that the moment presented a once-in-a-generation opportunity.
“When we are finished, take over your government. It will be yours to take. This will probably be your only chance for generations,” he stated.
He also claimed that previous American administrations had failed to support such change, positioning his approach as unprecedented.
“For many years, you have asked for America’s help, but you never got it. No president was willing to do what I am willing to do tonight,” he said. “Now you have a president who is giving you what you want, so let’s see how you respond.”
Trump emphasized that the United States was backing the Iranian people with significant military strength, calling on them to act decisively.
“America is backing you with overwhelming strength and devastating force,” he wrote. “Now is the time to seize control of your destiny.”
He described the situation as a defining moment for Iran’s future, urging citizens not to miss the opportunity.
“This is the moment for action. Do not let it pass,” the statement read, concluding with a message of goodwill: “May God bless you all.”
The remarks are likely to draw strong international reactions, as they come amid an already volatile security situation in the region, raising concerns over further escalation and the potential consequences of external calls for regime change.
