Senior Editor at TUKO.co.ke has been given 48 hours to comply with court orders requiring his media platform to publish an apology over misleading article published in relation to the ongoing NYS graft case.Â
Senior principal magistrate Eunice Nyutu said that failure to comply with the court orders, the media platform together with the Editor will be cited for contempt of Court offence.
The offence according to Kenyan Laws is punishable by fine or imprisonment for a specified period of time or in worst scenario both fine and imprisonment all together.
TUKO was sued together with KBC, one largest mainstream media House in Kenya.
However, KBC lawyer has so far maintained that his client is not guilty to the charges.
So far TUKO Lawyers are in the process of filing an appeal against the ruling wich saw the Learned magistrate sentence Tuko Editor to pay a fine of Ksh 50,000 in default to serve six months in prison.
