TUM Students Set Building on Fire During Protest

Students from the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) have set a building inside the institution on fire during protests.

According to a source, the fire was started by students protesting the school administration’s recently implemented fee increases.

The disgruntled students started a peaceful demonstration, which quickly turned chaotic, according to our source, resulting in the burning of the institution’s student center.

Police and firefighters were quickly dispatched to the scene to defuse the situation and extinguish the fire.

According to one of the students, they went on strike after the institution refused to hear their complaint about rising university fees at a time when most students were struggling financially.
