Four gunmen were killed in a shootout with police in a Turkana County village.
According to police, the men were members of a gang that attacked Lokwar village on Monday in an attempt to steal animals.
A response team encountered some of them fleeing on a motorcycle, killed four of them, and discovered an AK47 rifle loaded with seven bullets on them.
The motorcycle was also recovered.
This occurred after the gang spotted the police vehicle and opened fire, prompting the reaction.
In the midday incident on Monday, two others escaped.
Police said they had earlier engaged villagers in a gunfight.
