Two charged with consipiracy to defraud Travel Agency air tickets worth Sh. 3 Million

BY PRUDENCE WANZA – Two men have charged with conspiracy to defraud a travel agency air tickets worth sh 3 million.

Gideon Kimayo and Joshua Rotich are alleged to have conspired to obtain air tickets worth sh 3,653,215 from Satguru Travels and tour services limited by falsely pretending that they were in a position to pay for the tickets a fact they knew to be false.
The two are said to have committed the offence between 15th and 28th January 2019 in Nairobi.
Rotich is further charged with carrying credit by false pretences. According to the prosecution the accused jointly with others not before court, while operating a business under the name Karra Properties limited incurred credit from Satguru travels and tours limited to wit Sh 3,563,215 by falsely pretending that they were in a position to pay for 43 air tickets.
They denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi and were released on a cash bail of Sh 500,000.

The matter will be mentioned on 1st July and heard on 5th August 2019.
