Police in Baringo County have received two illegal firearms that were voluntarily surrendered by members of the public on Wednesday, 12th November, in Tangulbei, Tiaty East Sub-County.
The surrender comes as part of ongoing government-led peace and disarmament initiatives across the North Rift region, highlighting continued public goodwill and trust in efforts to enhance security.
The National Police Service praised the collaboration between local leaders and community members, emphasizing their crucial role in promoting peace and stability in the area. Authorities also encouraged residents to continue providing information to support the recovery of illegal firearms and strengthen community safety.
“This voluntary surrender reflects the growing commitment of our communities to peace and security,” a police spokesperson said.
The initiative aligns with broader efforts to curb gun-related violence in the region and reinforce public confidence in law enforcement agencies.
