Two Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates have been nabbed with mobile phones in Nairobi whereas attempting to enter examination room.Â
Speaking in Mombasa on Monday where he oversaw the exam rollout, Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) George Magoha warned teachers and supervisors of dire consequences should they be found facilitating exam cheating.
“We have not had any serious incidents. We dismantled the cartels in primary schools exams. We have noticed that they have formed another one. This morning we have two cases of students with cell phones. We shall allow them to take the exams. I want to warn any teacher who feels brave enough and opens the exam papers beforehand. We shall come for you.”
During the start of the KCSE exams in Nyali, Mombasa the CS assured parents and other stakeholders that the exams would be credible.
Approximately, 831,026 candidates commenced their exam this morning, which is taken in more than 10,000 centres.
