Two men have been arrested for defrauding tens of Kenyans of an unspecified amount of money on diverse dates between 3rd April and 8th June 2022.
According to DCI, Nicholas Chomba and Anthony Mwangi defrauded the unsuspecting Kenyans on the pretext that they were in a position to recruit them into the Kenya Coast Guard service.
“The two had placed advertisements on social media inviting applicants to send their applications and even prepared offer letters to some of the ‘successful’ applicants,” the DCI said.
They were arrested separately in Murang’a and Machakos on June 29th and 5th, 2022, following successful investigations.
Members of the public are advised that the Kenya Coast Service is not currently recruiting.
