Two police officers are facing robbery with violence charges contrary to the law.
Police officers James Olando and Marshal Adawo were today arraigned before SPM Bernard Ochoi at Milimani with charges of using violence to rob Jared Ominde Omondi of Ksh 50,000.
The police officers are said to rob Jared Ominde of the said money using threats, intimidation and force against him on July 1, 2020.
They were also charged with abduction with intent to confine contrary to sections 256 and 259 of the Penal Code.
According to the charge sheet, the two officers jointly with others still on the run, on July 11, 2020 at Kisumu Town, abducted Jared Ominde Omondi with intent to secretly and wrongfully confine him.
They denied the charges and were released on Ksh 500,000 bond with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 200,000.
