Two security officers were arraigned in court today with charges of assault causing actual bodily harm contrary to the Law.
The two; Dennis Kiprotich Ngetich and Emma Adipo Okando both employees at Gyto Security Company were accused of assaulting Benson Keya Amunga by hitting him on the head, torso, and arms thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.
The assault is said to have occurred on August 29, 2022, at around 1640hours at SASA MALL along Moi Avenue in Nairobi.
However, the two denied particulars of the charges before Hon. Micheni Wendy, the Chief Magistrate Milimani Law courts.
Their defense counsel pleaded with the court to release them on lenient bond terms as they pursue an out-of-court settlement.
The court allowed the application by the counsel and permitted the parties to pursue alternative dispute resolution.
The Court nevertheless released them on a cash bail of Ksh 10,000 each.
