Police have arrested two men suspected to be behind a string of robberies in Embakasi and Kikuyu following a coordinated operation carried out on May 30, 2025.

The suspects, identified as Kelvin Kasyoki Kyalo and Wilson Ngethe Waweru, were apprehended in Thogoto, Kiambu County, while seated inside a Mazda CX-5 believed to have been used in the commission of crimes. Authorities reported that the vehicle’s original registration number, KDC 077P, had been tampered with and altered to read KDD 677P in an attempt to conceal its identity.

“In a well-coordinated operation, National Police Service officers today apprehended two notorious criminals… suspected of orchestrating a series of crimes in Embakasi and Kikuyu,” read a police statement issued following the arrests.

A search of the vehicle uncovered various items commonly associated with criminal activity. These included master keys for car locks, crude weapons believed to be used for housebreaking, number plate stickers for disguising vehicle identities, and other burglary-related tools.

Detectives credited a public tip-off for enabling the successful operation and praised community members for their vigilance. The suspects are currently in custody and are expected to be formally charged in court.

Police say investigations are ongoing as they seek to establish the full extent of the duo’s criminal operations.
