Two alleged gold cartels were today arraigned in Court for stealing over 1 million US Dollars using false gold supply promises.
Emmanuel Wafula Othatcher and Willy Kiplimo were arraigned before Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina where the prosecution alleged that they conspired to steal 1,271,200 USD from Tanner Caldwell Cook by falsely pretending to be in a position to facilitate the sale of 2820 Kgs of gold.
According to the charge sheet, the said offence is believed to have been committed on diverse dates between March 31 and May 30, 2024 at Nairobi City County.
In a separate count, they were charged with illegally obtaining 1,271,200 US Dollars from the complainant by falsely pretending they would supply him 2820 Kgs of gold.
They denied the charges and were released on Ksh 2 million bond. The case proceeds in Court.
