LIMURU, KENYA – A high-stakes intelligence-led operation has resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the seizure of a large consignment of cannabis sativa along the Maai Mahiu–Nairobi highway in Limuru.
The operation, spearheaded by a multi-agency team comprising detectives from the Transnational Organized Crime and Anti-Narcotics units, and officers from Mutarakwa Police Post, led to the interception of a white Toyota Noah, registration number KCX 728Q.
The vehicle, driven by 37-year-old Minja Jimmy, was also occupied by Bernard Nyabero Nyakangi, also 37.

Upon a thorough search, officers discovered nine 90-kilogram sacks of cannabis sativa, neatly concealed under black polythene covers.
Authorities believe the substantial haul was in transit for distribution in Nairobi and potentially other urban centers.
The suspects, along with the vehicle and recovered narcotics, were escorted to Mutarakwa Police Post for booking.
They were later transferred to the DCI headquarters for processing and are expected to face drug trafficking charges in court.
