Detectives in Kisauni Sub-County have arrested two men in connection with the killing of Stephen Opello, who died following a violent attack in Chembani, Mtopanga, on November 22, 2025.
The suspects, identified as Julius Otieno Mageta, also known as Junior and Mohammed Omar Hamisi, alias Babu, were arrested after police received intelligence from members of the public that led officers to their hideout.
Investigators say the two allegedly assaulted Opello, leaving him with critical injuries.
Good Samaritans rushed the victim to Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital, where he later died while undergoing treatment.
Police have since taken the suspects into custody, where they are being processed ahead of their arraignment in court.
Detectives say investigations into the circumstances surrounding the murder are ongoing.
