US President Donald Trump and former President Bill Clinton are among the high-profile figures known to have associated with the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, according to photographic archives and social records.
BBC Verify has examined the documented history of their connections, which were most prominent during the 1990s and early 2000s. Both men were photographed with Epstein on multiple occasions and moved within overlapping social circles during that period.
To date, neither Trump nor Clinton has been accused of wrongdoing by survivors of Epstein’s abuse, and both have publicly denied any knowledge of his criminal activities. The available evidence indicates their personal relationships with Epstein concluded several years before his first conviction in 2008.
The analysis comes amid continued public interest in the extent of Epstein’s network and follows ongoing civil litigation related to his crimes, which has renewed scrutiny of his numerous high-profile contacts.
