Two female suspects have been arrested following an early morning anti-narcotics operation in Kamulu, Nairobi County.
The raid, conducted at around 6:00 a.m. in the Vina area, was led by the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse with support from specialised police units, including the K9 Unit and officers from Kamulu Police Station.
Authorities said the operation was intelligence-led and targeted a residential house suspected to be a distribution point for illegal drugs within the area.
During the search, officers recovered 82 rolls of dry plant material believed to be cannabis, 32 sachets of a similar substance, a digital weighing scale, 11 packets of rolling papers, a rolling tray and Ksh 33,000 in cash suspected to be proceeds of crime.
Investigators described the two suspects as key distributors in the locality. They were taken into custody and later booked at Kamulu Police Station.
The suspects are expected to be arraigned at the JKIA Law Courts upon completion of investigations.
Authorities said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to dismantle drug distribution networks and curb the spread of illegal substances in residential areas.
