UDA Secretary-General Veronica Maina has flagged a fake notice calling for nationwide protests ahead of the Supreme Court’s ruling on the presidential petition.
Maina issued a statement distancing herself from the letter purportedly issued by her as a doctored document pushed out by political opponents.
“Desperation by the masters of forgeries,” Maina stated.

The letter, widely shared on social media, had UDA party symbols and an alleged signature of the outfit’s secretary general Veronica Maina.
It also had an alleged stamp of the UDA party with September 3, being the date it was authored.
The fake notice issued a clarion call to all supporters of the party led by President-elect William Ruto to take to the streets for peaceful protests on Monday, September 5, ahead of the Supreme Court ruling on the presidential election petition challenging William Ruto’s August 9 victory as President-elect.
“This is to inform our supporters that we shall have a protest from Monday 5th as from 8:00 Am. This call is for solidarity with millions of Kenyans who woke up to vote on August 9, 2022,” read the fake notice.
“As a party, with its coalition, we feel our victory and the will of the Kenya people want to be overturned by a few individuals . Let us all get to the streets on that day,” it added.
This comes as the Supreme Court of Kenya is expected to issue its ruling on the Presidential petition filed before it on Monday.
