UDA Mourns Deputy Secretary General Ole Sambu

The United Democratic Alliance has announced the death of its Deputy Secretary General, Daniel Ole Sambu, describing him as a central figure in the party and a committed advocate for wildlife protection.

In a statement on Thursday, Secretary General Hassan Omar said the party was mourning a leader whose work shaped its grassroots presence and strengthened its organisational depth.

Omar said Ole Sambu had been more than a senior official. He praised his commitment to democratic values and his strategic role in building the party’s structures across the country. He said the loss had left the UDA fraternity with a deep sense of sorrow.

The party offered condolences to his family and promised support during the mourning period. It said it hoped the family would find strength to cope with the loss. Ole Sambu had been visible in both political and conservation spheres.

Only a month earlier he had hosted President William Ruto at the Maa Cultural and Tourism Festival in Amboseli, where the President visited the stand of the Big Life Foundation, an organisation for which Ole Sambu served as national coordinator.

His death comes as the wider Kenya Kwanza coalition continues to grieve the passing of another figure, nominated Member of Parliament Denar Joseph Hamisi.

Hamisi died at the age of 56. He joined the National Assembly under the Amani National Congress after the 2022 general election and sat on the committee on Sports and Culture as well as the committee on National Cohesion and Equal Opportunities.
