An office belonging to the United Democratic Alliance party in Wote town, Makueni county has been razed. The office was razed during the ongoing national anti-fuel hike protests on Monday.

Youth involved in the protests razed the office as they chanted anti-government slogans where they expressed their frustrations with the Kenya Kwanza administration, stating that it had made life unbearable.
The protestors also burnt documents belonging to the ruling party that were inside the office.

Earlier, before they charged to the office, the agitated youth barricaded roads within Wote Township.
Some hurled stones at motorists who were plying the routes where the situation forced most motorists to keep off the roads.
Traders were affected as most roads remained closed for the better part of the day.
There are no public service vehicles on Makueni roads.
Elsewhere in Kitengela, Kajiado County, protestors looted Quiver Lounge and Grill during the protests.
In Emali along the Nairobi – Mombasa Road, protesters blocked the road, making motorists keep off as police officers enhanced patrols but there are very few private vehicles plying Mombasa Road through Emali and Makindu.
A similar situation was witnessed in Mlolongo, Machakos county where businesses remained closed and the highway deserted as GSU officers kept vigil on the Nairobi Expressway despite the road having very few motor vehicles plying on it.
Most people have remained indoors during the protests.
Police have intensified patrols along Mombasa Road and most towns along the highway.
Along Kangundo road, protestors barricaded the road at Tala, Kangundo subcounty.
Passengers remained stranded for the better part of the day as demonstrations continued.
Some Kenyans who spoke to the Star urged the government to intervene by reducing the fuel prices.
They said that the situation had paralysed operations not only in the transport sector but also in other spheres of life.
Several Subarus believed to belong to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have been seen in Kitengela town.
There was also police surveillance in the air by press time. A police chopper was witnessed patrolling the town and its environs.
