UDA Party Targets 15 Million New Members

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) intends to register more than 15 million members out of the 22 million electorates registered by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Cleophas Malala, the party’s Secretary General (SG), said at a recruitment and popularisation exercise in Narok on Saturday that this will give its candidates a clear win and prevent future election disputes.

The SG asked ward representatives to support governors in order to spur development in their counties, citing the fact that 850 of the country’s 1450 MCAs were elected on UDA tickets.

This, he claims, does not undermine the MCAs’ oversight role in ensuring that county funds are spent wisely.

Malala chastised opposition leader Raila Odinga for constantly criticizing the government agenda, claiming that he provides no credible solutions to the nation’s problems.

Narok County Governor Patrick Ntutu, who was present, urged all Narok UDA MPs to vote on the Finance Bill on Tuesday.

Mps David Sankok, Johana Ngeno, Kitilai Ntutu, Ken Aramat, Gabriel Tongoyo, and Rebecca Tonkei all agreed.
