UDA Receives New Political Defectors From Vihiga

The defectors were led by Sabatia MP Clement Sloya and CAS nominee Jackie Mwenesi among other leaders from Vihiga County.

Cleophas Malala, Secretary General of the United Democratic Alliance, welcomed 12 new defectors to the party.

Malala did not specify which party the new members had defected from, but he was pleased that the UDA had ‘harvested more in Western Kenya Region.’

“This afternoon, on behalf of my party, I had the pleasure to receive defectors and delegates from Vihiga county to the UDA party at my Mushikulu rural home, Kakamega County,” Malala said after receiving the defectors.

The defectors were led by Sabatia MP Clement Sloya and CAS nominee Jackie Mwenesi among other leaders from Vihiga County.

The defectors from Vihiga included Ken Vitisia, Amara Elisha, Masini Wycliffe, Obedi Chunguli Hamisi, Nickson Butiya, Dauglus Beru Sabatia, Khalid Balala, Gladys Analo Emuhaya and Ollinga Jairus.

Those from Luanda were Butiko Kennedy and Alukhutsa Peter.

Malala said the defections to the UDA Party come at a time when the party is increasing its foothold in the vote-rich region after a successful development tour by President William Ruto.

He said the ruling party is a national party adding that it is open to new membership.
