UDA Rubbishes Power-Sharing ‘Leak’

The United Democratic Alliance currently claims that the Amani National Congress (ANC) and Ford Kenya have reached no legal agreement.

The Kenya Kwanza Alliance’s political outfits are just political pals, according to party head Johnstone Muthama.

“As a party, we are committed to ensuring that democracy is preserved, whether through nominations or the granting of nomination certificates.”

Muthama was responding to a publication in the national newspaper that established a power-sharing formula among the three political parties.

Muthama argued that the topic of whether or not the party led by Deputy President William Ruto will field candidates in different political zones in support of a particular party should not be discussed.

“There has been no agreement reached between the three main groups on forming a coalition.” What we have in common is that we are friends, and we will continue to communicate and do stuff together. When the time comes to agree on coalition conditions, the matter will be addressed,” he said.

Political concerns have formed among UDA political heavyweights from the western area, following the entry of Ford Kenya and the African National Congress (ANC), both of which have significant political clout in the region.
