UDA’s Tubi cleared to contest against his sister Bina of Jubilee in Isiolo South by-election

Following the death of Isiolo South constituency MP Mohamed Tupi on November 12, 2026, the much-anticipated by-election scheduled for February 26, 2026, will undoubtedly be a hotly contested race between the UDA and Jubilee.

This follows the clearance of Tubi Mohammed Tubi, who is the son of the late Mohammed Tubi, by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, IEBC, as the UDA candidate in the by-election.

Earlier, Isiolo elders had unanimously endorsed Tubi Mohamed Tubi to contest the upcoming by-election for the Isiolo South Constituency seat, an announcement that was made on Saturday, November 15, 2025, by Isiolo Governor Abdi Ibrahim Guyo.

In what emerges as siblings’ rivalry, on the other hand, the Jubilee Party unveiled Bina Mohamed Tupi, the daughter of the late Isiolo South MP Mohammed Tupi, on Thursday, January,15,2026 as its candidate for the upcoming by-elections that are scheduled for February 26, 2026. The Jubilee party announced to have issued the nomination certificate to Bina.

The two siblings, a brother, Tubi Mohmmed Tubi, and his sister, Bina Mohammed Tubi, will be battling it out to succeed their father in a hotly contested byelection between two rival parties, UDA and Jubilee. This contest will be another opportunity for the United Opposition and the Kenya Kwanza government to battle it out in yet another byelection.
