Uhuru Changed His Phone Number – Mo Ibrahim Tells Ruto

President William Ruto on Saturday, April 29, urged Sudanese-born British entrepreneur Mo Ibrahim to work with his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to bring the country’s political temperatures down.

During the Mo Ibrahim Governance Forum at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Ruto challenged the philanthropist to use his close relationships with Uhuru and Raila to help them reach an agreement on the bipartisan talks.

In response to Ruto’s request, the billionaire expressed regret that Uhuru had changed his phone number.

“Uhuru, my other brother, unfortunately, changed his mobile number, I cannot reach him. So if you hear us, Uhuru give me a call,” he said.

He, however, disclosed he has already reached out to Raila but was yet to confirm his availability for the lunch.

“You are all my friends. Uhuru, Raila and you, are all my friends, and we are all brothers.

“I already reached out to our brother Raila, I have invited him to come and have lunch…a great lunch, but I am yet to get a confirmation yet, I would like to meet him,” he said.

According to Ibrahim, dialogue was the only way to end the country’s political squabbles.

He stated that the growing disparities were harmful to the country, particularly the economy.

“I am not a Kenyan, but maybe it is much easier for me to say this, please guys, you have kids who need education, you have people who need food and who need jobs, let us work for the Kenyan people,” he said.
