Uhuru Convenes Jubilee Party Meeting

In a gazette notice, Uhuru stated that the National Executive Committee will provide a status report during the convention.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party has called a delegates convention for May 22 at the Bomas of Kenya.

The party’s policies will be reviewed, formulated, and approved at the meeting.

In a gazette notice, Uhuru stated that the National Executive Committee will provide a status report during the convention.

The Jubilee Party has recently made headlines due to internal party squabbles.

Kanini Kega, an Eala MP, and Jeremiah Kioni, the Jubilee party’s secretary general, have both staked their claims to the party’s leadership.

This is despite the fact that the Political Parties Tribunal ruled that Kega was lawfully installed as the party’s secretary general.

This was decided at a meeting held on February 10 in Naivasha.

It said the resolution to suspend Kioni reached the National Executive Committee meeting still stands and referred Kioni to the party’s internal dispute resolution mechanism to address his opposition to Kega’s takeover.

Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, who visited the offices said they were going to solve the party’s issues internally.
