Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has put on hold a planned visit by a youth group to his home in Ichaweri, Gatundu, Kiambu County.
According to a statement from Kanze Dena on Sunday, the Communication Secretary for the office of the 4th president, the visit was not formally communicated hence cannot be approved.
“We wish to clarify that President (Rtd) Kenyatta is currently not in a position to host the said group,” the statement noted.
The group was urged to communicate in advance to pave way for seamless arrangements ahead of any engagements.
Mr. Kenyatta, however, maintained that he is open to hold dialogue with anyone “in a dignified manner that fosters unity and mutual respect”.
“He firmly believes that dialogue between generations is essential for shaping the future of our nation, and he welcomes opportunities for constructive engagement,” the statement added.
